Defending Marathon Champion Rita Jeptoo and Runners in Bucktown Monday Meet

BUCKTOWN -- A Kenyan mens nike blazers.thlete who ran this year's Boston Marathon and the Chicago Marathon of last year will be coming to your Nike shop in Bucktown/ Wicker Park Monday to participate in a brief Q&A with running shoes before reaching the roads with them.
Rita Jeptoo's appearances at Nike Jogging Bucktown, 1640 N. Damen Ave. are scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. to midday Tuesday.
After opening her 2014 marathon campaign with a race time of 2:18:57 in Boston, the previous course record broke by nearly two minutes and set a new personal best.
Jeptoo will be returning to Chicago in October "with the potential to rewrite the record books by becoming the third woman in history to run three sub-2:20 marathons," coordinators of the marathon said in a news release.
The spokeswoman said "guests will have the ability to ask whatever they want" of Jeptoo during the Q&An on Monday and on Tuesday Jeptoo will return to the Nike Running Bucktown shop from 11 a.m.-noon to meet with runners for photographs.

Jeptoo ran her first race, barefoot, at age 15 and is regarded as "among the quickest & most exciting athletes competing in the world now," Bank of America Chicago Marathon Executive Race Director Carey Pinkowski said.

About one block north of the busy Milwaukee, Damen and North avenues intersection in Wicker Park, the store is on a stretch of street which is Wicker Park but to which Bucktown has laid claim.
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is scheduled for Oct. 12 and yearly brings 45,000 participants and an estimated 1.7 million viewers.
